The search of the Anaheim chili pepper....

This weekend I planned to make Racheal Ray's Uptown Down-Home Chili, along with her Rio Grande Fritter Cakes. Well the fritter cakes called for an Anaheim or Pablano pepper. Did Trader Joe's or my favorite local farmers market have these? NO. So I already planned to go to Stop and Shop for a few other items, so tried there...no luck. Hit Shaw's on the way home...nope. I had all but given up and got a jalapeƱo, except I forgot to get parsley and eggs for another recipe. So off to Wilson Farms in Lexington. They had them (an quite a variety of hot peppers)! Now all that work, and I made the fritters....not so good. I ended up throwing them away. Oh well, I now know how great Wilson Farms is for produce. Now I just hope they were super crazy busy because of the Super Bowl and it isn't that crazy every weekend...

The chili on the other hand was yummy. Didn't taste like your "traditional" chili, which for me was good because Matt doesn't like chili. But he liked this chili!! Rachael's chili had a good complex flavor and did not use chili powder, but a variety of other spices/flavors for the heat.
